Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ali Basra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gomer Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacobs has chosen Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ali Basra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gomer Jacobs! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs shoots in but no luck this time. Basra lunges at Jacobs with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jacobs's hand. Basra jabs Jacobs right on the nose. Jacobs blinks but takes it well. Jacobs fails with a takedown attempt. Jacobs avoids the body shot from Basra.
Basra lands a nice hook to Jacobs's body. Jacobs takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Jacobs tries for a takedown but Basra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ali Basra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gomer Jacobs. Jacobs misses with a takedown attempt and Basra counters with a right hand to the body. Jacobs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jacobs working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Basra seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jacobs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Basra swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs drops back looking for a leg! Basra is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Basra manages to kick Jacobs off! Jacobs jumps back into Basra's guard. Basra keeping full guard, as Jacobs tries to pass. Jacobs trying to control but Basra is working from the bottom. Jacobs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Basra swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jacobs trying to control but Basra is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Basra is pulling down on Jacobs's head to control his posture. Jacobs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Basra is keeping the position for now. Jacobs wants to control from the top but Basra keeps moving. Basra keeping full guard, as Jacobs tries to pass. Jacobs trying to control the position from guard on top but Basra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Gomer Jacobs hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Jacobs fails with the takedown and Basra counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jacobs looks for a takedown but Basra sprawls well. Gomer Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jacobs with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Basra to counter with a crisp jab. Basra throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jacobs sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jacobs fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jacobs will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Basra avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Jacobs shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Basra sprawls well. Basra wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jacobs gets slowly back to his feet. Jacobs with a poor takedown and Basra counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jacobs misses with a takedown attempt and Basra counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jacobs looks winded! This has been an exciting period of action! Jacobs goes for a double leg but Basra avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Basra continues to drive forward. Basra is leaning against Jacobs and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Basra works on Jacobs's body with a couple of short punches. A right handed body shot lands from Basra.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Basra scores with an uppercut up the middle. A short right hand to the side of the head by Basra. Basra lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Basra digs a right hand underneath Jacobs's ribcage. Jacobs let out a lung full of air as it connected. Nice body punch from Basra. Basra lands an uppercut. Basra lands a body punch in the clinch. A left hand lands to the body for Basra.

Jacobs is rocked! Basra lands with a short head shot on the inside. Jacobs is still on wobbly legs! Can Basra finish him? Jacobs tries to pull guard but Basra holds him up against the cage and eventually Jacobs drops back down to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Basra lands a hook to the side of the head. Basra doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Jacobs seems to have recovered his senses. Basra prevents a takedown attempt there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ali Basra dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jacobs fails with a takedown attempt. Basra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Basra wants it to stay on the feet. Basra connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Basra fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Jacobs changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Basra tries to avoid it but Jacobs manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Basra to the ground. Basra escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ali Basra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gomer Jacobs. Jacobs fails with a takedown attempt. Jacobs takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jacobs tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Basra defends well and Jacobs ends up having to push Basra into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Basra lands a shoulder strike. Basra lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jacobs backwards. Basra scores with a shoulder strike. Basra unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Jacobs! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Basra is unloading with more strikes now! Jacobs drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ali Basra!
