And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bellator fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anderson manages to avoid it.
Bellator throws a right hand that misses

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bellator keeps working.
Bellator works his way to full guard. Good work.

Bellator escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Anderson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bellator has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Anderson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Anderson slips nicely into half guard.
Bellator is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Anderson trying to control from half guard but Bellator is working away.
Bellator wants to get back to full guard.

Anderson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bellator!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Anderson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Anderson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bellator hang on?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bellator tries to reverse the position but Anderson maintains control.

Bellator tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Anderson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bellator is squirming around, avoiding Anderson's attempts to control the action.
Bellator is looking to get to half guard.
Anderson avoids the attempt from Bellator to control.
Anderson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


It looks like Frank Bellator has been cut.
Anderson lands a heavy elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Anderson lands a nice shot to the head.

Frank Bellator's cut is getting worse.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bellator tries to hold on but Anderson pushes him away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
