Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wandwasi Nsumba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson has chosen Don't Mean A Thing as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Roy Nelson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Nelson! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nsumba. Nelson misses with a body shot.
Nelson rushes Nsumba and presses him up against the ropes. Nelson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Nelson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A battle for position here, against the ropes. Nelson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nsumba's efforts to push away. Nsumba can't break the clinch.

Nsumba lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A combination from Nelson does no damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nelson slips a jab and a cross from Nsumba.

Roy Nelson dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nelson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nelson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nsumba manages to avoid it. Nsumba defending well as Nelson loads up on a big left hand. Nelson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nelson misses with a hook. Nsumba slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nelson jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

enabling Nsumba to counter with a crisp jab. Nelson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nsumba sees it coming and avoids it easily. Nelson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Nsumba avoids the body shot from Nelson.

Nelson throws the left hand but Nsumba avoids the punch easily. The fight moves into the clinch position. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Nelson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Nelson is trying to maintain a safe position but Nsumba gets an underhook and turns Nelson into the ropes. Nelson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nsumba's efforts to push away. Nsumba has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Nelson wants to break free but Nsumba has control.

Nsumba drops his hands momentarily and Nelson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Some wild striking there from Nelson.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nsumba scores with a punch to the head. The fighters circling - Nelson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nelson throws a hook but Nsumba avoids it easily. Nsumba takes a body punch but keeps moving. Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Nsumba paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nsumba cracks Nelson with a right hand to the side of the head. Sloppy strikes from Nsumba. Those never looked like landing. Nsumba lands with a shot to the body. Nelson throws a hook but Nsumba blocks it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nsumba scores with a shot to the body.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Roy Nelson. Well Nelson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
