Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Blake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ellert Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts fails to land the takedown.
Roberts shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Blake defends it nicely.
Blake with a lazy takedown attempt
and Roberts counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Blake thinking.
Blake shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roberts as he jumps to the side.
Blake showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Roberts.
Blake stuffs the takedown attempt from Roberts. Roberts gets slowly back to his feet.
Michael Blake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ellert Roberts.
Blake goes for a double leg but Roberts avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Roberts continues to drive forward.
Roberts jumps into guard, dragging Blake to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Blake is stalling in the full guard.
Blake trying to control the position from guard on top but Roberts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Roberts can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Blake controls the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Michael Blake wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Roberts closes the distance and clinches.
Roberts is trying to trip Blake. He has hold of a leg but Blake is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Roberts persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Blake has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blake wants to sweep here but Roberts controlling him for the moment.
Blake is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roberts defends well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Blake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roberts gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blake is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Roberts frees his head nicely. Oh but Blake has switched to an armbar! Roberts is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
