Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mason Christian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan DeMarco!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christian swings widly with a right hand
enabling DeMarco to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Mason Christian has been cut.
Christian fails with an attempt to clinch.
DeMarco scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
DeMarco avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
DeMarco works the jab nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Christian takes the fight into the clinch.
Christian fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Christian is trying to break the clinch but DeMarco has him pressed against the cage.
DeMarco scores with a shoulder strike.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
DeMarco can't break the clinch.
DeMarco wants to get back to striking at distance but Christian won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Christian tightens his grip and picks DeMarco up, before dumping him to the ground. DeMarco manages to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Christian sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Christian could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
DeMarco trying to keep a closed guard but Christian is proving a slippery customer.
Christian would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Christian might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Christian controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Christian postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Mason Christian wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
DeMarco cracks a nice hook into Christian's ribs.
DeMarco works Christian's body with a nice hook.
Christian is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Christian takes a shot right to the bread basket.
DeMarco cracks Christian on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Christian falls backwards against the cage. DeMarco follows up with more strikes that drop Christian to his knees. DeMarco keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Christian! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Juan DeMarco!
