Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Todd Flanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Redshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Flanders might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jaw of Glass - Blondie. Redshaw has chosen ACDC - Skies on Fire as his entrance music. Dexter Redshaw has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Todd Flanders! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Sydney, Dexter Redshaw! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flanders throws a solid leg kick but Redshaw takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Flanders. The fighters circling - Flanders throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Flanders feints and then cracks Redshaw's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Redshaw down. Flanders lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Redshaw misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Redshaw pivots, looking for a leg kick but Flanders is out of range and Redshaw settles back down. Flanders takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Redshaw shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Flanders as he avoids it easily. Flanders on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Flanders lands with a right hand. Redshaw throws the kick towards the body but Flanders avoids it. This has been an exciting period of action! Redshaw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Flanders circles away. Todd Flanders has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dexter Redshaw. Flanders jabs at Redshaw's body. We've been told by Flanders's head coaches at Meats Slaughter House that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Redshaw takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Redshaw thows a left - swing and a miss! Flanders checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Redshaw misses with a hook. Flanders ducked under it nicely. Flanders ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. The crowd cheers as Flanders lands an impressive looking overhand right. Redshaw doesn't seem phased though. A solid leg kick lands there for Redshaw.
Flanders missing with a left hand there. Redshaw was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Flanders chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Nice cross by Flanders. Flanders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Redshaw misses with a few strikes there.

Flanders is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Redshaw throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Flanders tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Redshaw is in Flanders's guard. Flanders controlling the position. Flanders trying to control the position.
My spies in Sydney Elite Systems inform me that Redshaw has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Flanders has control of Redshaw's left arm, preventing Redshaw from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The ref stands the fighters back up. Todd Flanders wasn't doing enough on the ground. Redshaw misses with a hook. Redshaw takes a swing at Flanders's ribcage but misses. Flanders lands a nice hook to Redshaw's body. Redshaw takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Todd Flanders is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Redshaw moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Redshaw closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Flanders prevents Redshaw from improving position. Redshaw swings around for an armbar but Flanders sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Redshaw's guard. Flanders slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Redshaw is looking for a sweep. Redshaw is trying to work for a sweep but Flanders has mounted him! Flanders takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flanders sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Redshaw keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Flanders sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Todd Flanders will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Redshaw misses with a shot to the body and Flanders counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Redshaw prevents a body shot from Flanders. Flanders lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Redshaw pressing his opponent against the cage. Redshaw tries to land a knee to the head but Flanders blocks with his arms.
Flanders working some nice short punches in the clinch. Flanders can't find room to land a body shot as Redshaw controls the action.

Redshaw gets a trip takedown into half guard. Flanders trying to control but Redshaw postures up.
Flanders regains full guard. Nicely done. Flanders utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Flanders keeping full guard, as Redshaw tries to pass. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Redshaw throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redshaw postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Redshaw throwing strikes but missing. Redshaw throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Flanders wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Redshaw slips nicely into half guard. Redshaw wants to work for an arm triangle but Flanders is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Flanders tries to hold on but Redshaw pushes him away. Redshaw cracks Flanders with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Redshaw is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Flanders can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Flanders is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Redshaw softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Flanders is out cold! Redshaw jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dexter Redshaw! Our winner, Dexter Redshaw, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
