Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erkesh Shakeev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Trap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erkesh Shakeev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Trap!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shakeev misses with a two punch combination.
Trap shoots in but no luck this time.
Trap shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shakeev but Shakeev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shakeev throws out a powerful jab.
Shakeev scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Trap looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Erkesh Shakeev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Trap.
Shakeev throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Trap.
Shakeev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Trap closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shakeev quickly recovers to half guard.
Trap drops an elbow to the side of Shakeev's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Trap is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Still in half guard, Trap seems content to control.

Trap not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Trap is keen to just control but Shakeev is a slippery customer.
Trap controlling the action here.

Trap is taking a breather. Shakeev says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Trap scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Trap lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Trap lands with a punch from half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Trap wants to take a breather but Shakeev is having none of it.
Trap scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Trap perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Shakeev blocking the ground and pound attempt from Trap.
Trap seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Shakeev wants to improve his position but Trap is controlling well.
Trap has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shakeev is breathing heavily.

Trap is working for a submission of some sort.
Trap keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Trap missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trap lands with a punch from half guard.

Trap thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shakeev's head.

Trap is trying to control the action in half guard but Shakeev is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Trap is looking for a kimura here.
Trap seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shakeev does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Trap passes to full mount!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Trap lands with some strikes.
Trap scoring with strikes but Shakeev is staying in there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Trap dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Shakeev throws a right hand that Trap ducks under and follows up with a left that Trap also avoids with ease.

Trap shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shakeev manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Trap trying to control but Shakeev is working from the bottom.
Shakeev knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trap on the ground.
Trap postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Trap is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Trap makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.


Shakeev is rocked!
Trap stands up over Shakeev, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Oh Shakeev is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trap arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Shakeev's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jon Trap!
Jon Trap seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
