PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tory Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Farenden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Farenden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Farenden gets to his feet. Stark looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Stark dives in and grabs Farenden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Farenden pushes down on Stark's head and hops out.
Farenden on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Farenden fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Farenden fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Farenden shoots in for a takedown but Stark shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tory Stark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Farenden.

Stark instigates a clinch.
Stark really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stark is trying to pull guard but Farenden turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Farenden stays in close to Stark's body and controls the position.

Farenden drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Farenden jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Farenden stands up from Stark's guard - Farenden perhaps looking for a knockout.
Stark lands a two punch combo.
Stark is trying hard to land a takedown here. Farenden sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Stark dives in for a single leg takedown but Farenden sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Stark breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Farenden shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stark napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Farenden looks winded!

Farenden has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stark comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Farenden slaps away a takedown attempt from Stark, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stark throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Farenden gets a takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Farenden maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Stark could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Farenden has cracked it and Stark is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Farenden!
