Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Avery Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Clark Clarkey! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clarkey throws a series of punches but Murphy avoids them all with ease. Clarkey looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Murphy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Clarkey. Clarkey throws a leg kick and Murphy counters by clinching up. Murphy displaying some good clinch control by pressing Clarkey up against the cage. Murphy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Murphy successfully pulls guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Murphy striking from the bottom.
Murphy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clarkey's guard. Murphy is stalling in the full guard. Murphy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Murphy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Clarkey's guard. Murphy passes to full mount! Murphy looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy is landing with some decent strikes but Clarkey is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Murphy has isolated one of Clarkey's arms. Clarkey looking to fight him off but Murphy twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
