Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karim Montana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ilya Murometz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montana throws a leg kick that is checked
and Murometz counters with a crisp one two that drops Montana! Murometz thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Montana to his feet! Montana is in big trouble!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Murometz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Montana.
Murometz misses with an uppercut.
We've been told by Montana's head coaches at ♛ Team Fight Club™ that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Murometz feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Montana sprawling to the canvas! Montana rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Murometz finish him?!
Montana is rocked!
Murometz clinches.
Montana has Murometz pushed against the cage.
Murometz lands with a light punch inside.
Oh Montana is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Montana lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Montana seems to have got his legs back now.
Murometz stalling.
Murometz scores with a hook to the body.
Montana has a couple of punches blocked by Murometz.
Murometz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Montana pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Montana closes the distance but Murometz moves to the side
and Murometz counters with a nice right hand that sends Montana toppling to the canvas! Montana scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Murometz finish him?!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Montana gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Murometz points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Montana wakes up just in time to hear Murometz thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ilya Murometz!
After the fight, Ilya Murometz was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
