The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kapila throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ventura sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ventura walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kapila shoots in and drives through. Ventura sprawls well.
Kapila uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ventura.
Kapila looks to land a left hand but Ventura moved out of range nicely.
Ventura slaps away a takedown attempt from Kapila, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Ventura will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown by Kapila or perhaps it was just good defense by Ventura which made him look bad.

Ventura lunges at Kapila with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kapila's hand.

Kapila has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Ventura moves out of range as Kapila strikes.
Kapila closes the distance and clinches up with Ventura, looking for a takedown. Kapila pushes Ventura against the cage but Ventura circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ventura throws a powerful right kick. Kapila tried to block low but the kick was high! Kapila was taken right off of his feet! Ventura jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

After winning the bout, Anthony Ventura thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
