Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chopp Emup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Holtz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeff Holtz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chopp Emup! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Holtz! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emup moves to clinch but Holtz breaks away and Holtz counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Emup's guard now. Holtz sitting in guard, not really doing much. Emup is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Holtz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Holtz wants to pass the guard but Emup is keeping the position. Holtz throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emup had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Holtz defends it easily. Holtz lands a couple of digs. Emup really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Holtz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Holtz stopping the sweep attempt from Emup. Holtz looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Emup working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Holtz. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Holtz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holtz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Emup looking to control.
Emup being controlled here, momentarily. Holtz distracts Emup with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Emup is trying to control the position but Holtz postures up. Holtz working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Holtz trying to control the position from guard on top but Emup is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Emup is trying to keep Holtz in close.
This has been an exciting period of action! Holtz lands a couple of elbows. Holtz stands and throws Emup's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holtz is working Emup over with some ground and pound from side control. Holtz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Holtz landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Holtz misses with an attempted head punch from side control. The referee asks Holtz politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Holtz prefers to stall for the moment though. Emup is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Emup's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Emup is breathing heavily. Emup is pushing Holtz's head away, looking to escape. Holtz manages to hold on to the position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Holtz lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Emup struggling a bit here. Holtz in side control lands a decent elbow. Holtz controls the position. Holtz trying to control the position but Emup is working away. Holtz working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Holtz lands a few punches from side control. Emup can't do much from the bottom here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Holtz slows the pace down. It looks like Holtz might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff Holtz dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Holtz keeps the fight on the outside. Nice takedown defense from Holtz. No joy for Emup on that attempt. Emup slips under a jab from Holtz. Holtz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Emup to the ground. Holtz is now in Emup's guard. Holtz throws a big right hand that misses. Holtz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Holtz lands a couple of elbows. Holtz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Holtz with a nice head shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holtz content to stall in guard here. Holtz with a flurry of punches that miss. Holtz connects with a couple of short punches. Holtz forces his way into half guard. Holtz trying to control the pace. Holtz trying to control the action but Emup is working from the bottom. Holtz is thwarting Emup's attempts to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Holtz there. Jeff Holtz has got the better of the ground game so far. Holtz lands with a punch from half guard. Holtz is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Emup! Holtz landing strikes from the mount. Emup tries to hold on but Holtz pushes him away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Holtz looking to control and managing it successfully. This has been an exciting period of action! Holtz landing strikes, looking to finish! Holtz lands a heavy elbow. Holtz breaks from Emup's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holtz controlling the pace for now. Let's hope that Holtz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Holtz scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Emup?
Holtz lands a big shot there that rocks Emup but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Holtz cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Holtz landing strikes, looking to finish! Emup tries to lock up and control but Holtz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Holtz lands a couple of good shots and Emup has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oooh a big shot gets through from Holtz. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Holtz is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Emup up.
Holtz has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Holtz lands an elbow to the side of the head. Holtz connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Emup to escape the position.
Emup is rocked! Holtz lands punches and elbows. Oh Emup is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Emup covers up after that shot from Holtz.
Holtz is scoring with a succession of shots from the back. Emup is covering up - he's had enough and the ref steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeff Holtz!
