1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Thomas! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blevins feints and as Thomas raises his hands in defense, Blevins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Our spies down at at Cozad MMA London inform us that Thomas has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Blevins passes easily into side control. Nice work. Blevins looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Blevins stands up and beckons Thomas to his feet. Blevins pushes Thomas up against the cage in a clinch. Blevins holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Thomas has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Blevins uses from the top position. Blevins controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Blevins stands and throws Thomas's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Thomas looks winded! Blevins has control of an arm but Thomas manages to advance to Blevins's back! Blevins is really stuck here.
Blevins is working hard here to advance position. Blevins rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Blevins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Blevins wants to sweep here but Thomas controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blevins keeping moving, preventing Thomas from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blevins is controlling Thomas's posture. Blevins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Thomas wants to control but Blevins is having none of it. Blevins in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Blevins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Blevins working away from the top, dropping strikes. Blevins sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Blevins is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Thomas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Blevins tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Blevins looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Blevins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee warns Thomas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Blevins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Blevins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Blevins tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Thomas is pressing down on Blevins's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Eldon Blevins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Blevins passes into half guard. Blevins is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thomas is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blevins decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Blevins shoots in and gets a takedown into Thomas's guard. Blevins wants to stand but Thomas is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blevins scoring with punches to the head and body. Blevins is looking to stand up but Thomas won't let him. Thomas is trying to keep Blevins in close.
Blevins slips nicely into half guard. Blevins looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Blevins seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Blevins stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blevins is trying for a kimura here. Thomas looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Blevins wins by kimura!
