Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kadian Aitkens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nawal Chekhemani! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aitkens gets in close and instigates a clinch. Aitkens lands a hook to the side of the head. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Chekhemani has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Aitkens lands on the inside with an uppercut. Aitkens misses with a punch on the inside.
Aitkens scores with a shot to the side of Chekhemani's head. Chekhemani has had enough of the clinch but Aitkens keeps him there for the moment. Aitkens scores with a shot to the side of Chekhemani's head. Aitkens lands a right hand. Aitkens scores with a shoulder strike. Chekhemani blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

We've been hearing reports that Aitkens has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Chekhemani wants to stall.
Aitkens lands with a left to the head. A frustrated look appears on Chekhemani's face as he tries to break the clinch. Aitkens lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Chekhemani or not. Aitkens has Chekhemani pushed against the cage. Aitkens lands a right hand that snaps the head of Chekhemani backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aitkens's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jab from Aitkens. Aitkens fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Chekhemani to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Chekhemani looks to clinch but Aitkens throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Chekhemani taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
