Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dennis Pegeant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Weerasak Prechantakul! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prechantakul clinches up with Pegeant and pushes him back against the cage. Prechantakul working aggressively here.
Pegeant prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pegeant drops down looking for an ankle pick but Prechantakul pulls his leg out and moves away.
Weerasak Prechantakul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Prechantakul darts in looking for a takedown but Pegeant gets double underhooks and turns Prechantakul into the cage. We've been hearing reports that Pegeant has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Prechantakul is looking to break free of the clinch but Pegeant has double underhooks. Prechantakul tries to break the clinch but Pegeant is controlling the position. Pegeant has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Prechantakul after a bit of a struggle. Prechantakul using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pegeant has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Prechantakul throws a head punch that misses. Prechantakul tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pegeant smiles and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prechantakul closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Pegeant really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Prechantakul escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Prechantakul throws a half hearted mid kick. Prechantakul doesn't manage to clinch there - Pegeant circles away.
Prechantakul's coach down at Tokyo Totally Gym + Sauna was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Prechantakul's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Pegeant gets tackled into the cage by Prechantakul. Prechantakul maintains the clinch. Prechantakul pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Prechantakul shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pegeant pinned against the cage. Pegeant gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Prechantakul.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prechantakul closes the distance and clinches. Prechantakul breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Prechantakul has closed the distance and engaged Pegeant in a clinch.
Prechantakul is trying to pull guard but Pegeant turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Pegeant on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Prechantakul throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Prechantakul breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Prechantakul throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Prechantakul tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pegeant swats him away and circles back towards the center. Prechantakul misses with a series of wild punches.

Prechantakul moves into the clinch. Pegeant is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Prechantakul can't fight it off and eventually Pegeant manages to take the fight to the floor. Prechantakul looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Pegeant has gone for a leg lock! Prechantakul slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pegeant's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pegeant escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Prechantakul gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Prechantakul must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pegeant is breathing heavily. Prechantakul stands up and waves to Pegeant to follow him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Prechantakul wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Weerasak Prechantakul dominated that round. That's time! Pegeant's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
No luck for Prechantakul with that takedown attempt. Prechantakul throws a head kick but Pegeant moves out of range.
Prechantakul closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pegeant's guard. Pegeant has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Prechantakul doesn't defend quickly enough and Pegeant has managed to lock this one up! Can Prechantakul escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pegeant on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dennis Pegeant!
