Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Ladent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladent has chosen A Light That Never Comes as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Nick Morton has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Morton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Ladent! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morton misses with a leg kick and Ladent counters with a body kick that stops Morton in his tracks momentarily. Morton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ladent tries to avoid it but Morton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ladent to the ground. Ladent escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ladent lands with a hook. Morton tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Morton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ladent pinned against the cage. Ladent gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ladent shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Morton eats them both and turns towards Ladent to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Ladent throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Morton misses the jab. An inside leg kick lands from Ladent. Ladent fails to land with a series of punches.
Ladent scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ladent scores to the head and body with a nice combination! A telegraphed right hand from Morton misses the target. Ladent looks to land a combination but Morton avoids it well. Morton avoids a punch combination nicely.
Robert Ladent is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Morton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ladent can't break the clinch.
Ladent tries to work over Morton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Ladent wants to get back to striking at distance but Morton won't allow it.
Ladent is fighting off a takedown attempt but Morton is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ladent to the mat. Ladent regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Morton pushing down on Ladent's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Morton is taking a breather. Ladent says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ladent wants to get back to full guard but Morton has passed into side control. Ladent tries to improve position but can't. Morton wants to stand but Ladent has his arm trapped. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ladent can do anything to dispel that myth. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Morton prevents Ladent from escaping the position. Morton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Morton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Ladent wants to control but Morton postures up. Morton working the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morton tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Ladent pushes Morton away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Morton gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morton works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Ladent is trying to get back to half guard. Morton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ladent is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Ladent taking punishment in the form of punches.
Morton decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ladent to his feet. Ladent lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Morton circles away quickly and effectively. Morton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ladent swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Morton swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Morton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Morton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ladent scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Morton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Morton prevents Ladent from improving his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Morton prevents Ladent from standing back up.
Ladent is trying to control but can't.
Ladent is staying active underneath Morton, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Morton dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ladent moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. The fight stays on the outside here - Morton looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ladent leaves Morton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ladent throws a sloppy head kick and Morton moves out of range easily. Morton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ladent sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Morton somewhat. Ladent stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ladent wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Morton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Morton takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ladent circles away. Morton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ladent throws a series of strikes that have Morton backpedaling.
Morton is rocked! Ladent plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Morton swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Morton face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
