Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harvey Boyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Harvey Boyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Payne! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payne stuffs the takedown attempt from Boyer. Boyer gets slowly back to his feet. Payne shoots in for a takedown but Boyer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Payne fails with the takedown. Boyer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Boyer tries to clinch up. Payne tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boyer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Boyer tries to clinch up but Payne circles away and keeps his distance. Boyer tries to clinch there but Payne circles away.
Boyer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Payne. Harvey Boyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Payne. Boyer wants to clinch up but Payne keeps it at a distance. Boyer moves out of range as Payne throws a body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Boyer drives through with a takedown into guard. Payne wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Boyer is now in half guard. Boyer is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Boyer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Harvey Boyer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Payne fails with an attempt to clinch.
Boyer is looking to clinch. Payne tries to clinch up but Boyer circles away and keeps his distance. Both fighters circling a little - Payne finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Boyer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Payne is trying to defend but Boyer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Boyer throwing shots but Payne is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Payne is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Boyer wants to free his trapped foot but Payne is holding on for dear life with his legs. Payne moves into full guard.
Payne looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Boyer controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Payne is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boyer defends well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boyer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Payne wants to get back to his feet but Boyer is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
We're going to have a standup here because Harvey Boyer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Boyer gets a clinch. Boyer working some nice short punches in the clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Payne throws an elbow but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boyer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Payne sprawls well. Payne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boyer gets slowly back to his feet. Boyer connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Payne momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Boyer is working Payne over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Boyer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Payne wants to hit a switch here but Boyer passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Payne there! Payne is looking to get to half guard. Boyer moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Payne has worked his arm free - good work by Payne!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Payne wants to control but Boyer postures up. Boyer swings around for an armbar but Payne sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Boyer's guard. Boyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Boyer has control of Payne's left arm, preventing Payne from doing any damage. Payne stopping the sweep attempt from Boyer. Boyer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boyer tries to get out of the position. Boyer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Payne gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Boyer keeping moving, preventing Payne from controlling successfully.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boyer keeping moving, preventing Payne from controlling successfully. Boyer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Payne trying to control but Boyer is working from the bottom. Payne has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boyer is proving hard to escape from. Boyer is trying to control the position but Payne postures up. Harvey Boyer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Boyer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Payne defends it easily. Payne trying to control but Boyer is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harvey Boyer dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Payne tries to clinch but Boyer moves out of range. Payne shoots in looking for a takedown but Boyer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Payne's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Payne is working for takedown but Boyer is calmly controlling the position for now. Boyer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Payne dives in and grabs Boyer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boyer pushes down on Payne's head and hops out. Harvey Boyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Payne. Payne tries to clinch up. Harvey Boyer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boyer moves in looking to clinch but Payne pushes him off. Payne gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Boyer moves into the clinch. Payne drags the fight down to the ground.
Payne takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Payne wants to sweep here but Boyer controlling him for the moment. Boyer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Boyer lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Boyer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boyer works over Payne with some ground and pound from guard. Boyer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Payne swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boyer trying to control the position from guard on top but Payne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Payne has an active guard here but Boyer has managed to pass into half guard.
Boyer is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

And that's the end of the fight! Harvey Boyer showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Boyer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
