The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Satriani moves into range and clinches up with Gaarlandt.
Satriani has clasped his hands together around Gaarlandt's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Gaarlandt has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Satriani has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
