The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Solis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Doyle is trying to get back to full guard. Well, if Solis is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Solis is pressing down on Doyle's thigh, looking to free his foot. Doyle is holding on for now. Solis throwing shots but Doyle is blocking nicely. Solis throwing shots but Doyle is blocking nicely. That's two minutes gone in the round. Solis is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Doyle is surviving well by controlling Solis's body position as best he can. Solis looking to finish with strikes here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Solis content just to control the position here. Doyle is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Solis controlling the pace for now. Doyle avoids a series of strikes thrown by Solis.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Solis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Solis has hold of Doyle's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Doyle manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Solis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Good standup being displayed there by Solis as he connects with a hook. Doyle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Solis as he avoids it easily. Doyle shoots in looking for a takedown but Solis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Doyle's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Solis. Solis shoots in but Doyle avoids the takedown attempt easily. Doyle shoots in but no luck this time. Doyle leaves Solis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Solis has taken the fight to the clinch.

Solis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Solis is trying to break the clinch but Doyle has him pressed against the cage. That's two minutes gone in the round. Solis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Doyle swivels and escapes. Solis pushes Doyle up against the cage in a clinch. Solis is trying to break free. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Solis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Doyle pulls him back up using the underhooks. Doyle tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Solis just stands there and leans against the cage. Solis lands a left hand that snaps the head of Doyle backwards. Solis tries to circle away but Doyle has him pinned against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Solis is trying to break the clinch but Doyle is controlling him. Solis stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Doyle wants to break the clinch but can't.
A frustrated look appears on Solis's face as he tries to break the clinch. Doyle is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Solis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Solis is looking for a takedown. Doyle is trying to maintain a safe position but Solis gets an underhook and turns Doyle into the cage. Doyle has Solis pressed against the cage, preventing Solis from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Solis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Solis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Doyle uses from the top position. Leon Solis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doyle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Solis has his hands on Doyle's head, controlling the position. Solis tries to break the clinch but Doyle is controlling the position. Solis is trying to break free. Doyle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Solis takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Solis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Solis is trying to drag Doyle to the mat but Doyle just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Solis has Doyle pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Doyle manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Doyle is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Solis is defending well. Doyle wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Solis has him pressed against the cage.

Solis is trying to force a seperation but Doyle has the dominant position. Solis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Doyle throws a right hand that Solis ducks under and follows up with a left that Solis also avoids with ease. Solis moves into the clinch. Solis working hard to break the clinch. Solis jumps into guard, dragging Doyle to the mat.

Solis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Doyle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Doyle throws a strike but Solis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Solis is defended easily by Doyle. Doyle closes the distance and clinches up with Solis, looking for a takedown. Doyle pushes Solis against the cage but Solis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Solis tries for a takedown but Doyle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Solis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Solis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Doyle as he avoids it easily. Sean Doyle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Leon Solis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A head kick misses from Doyle.
And that's the end of the fight! Leon Solis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Solis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
