The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilkerson thuds his right hand into Jelani's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Wilkerson feints and as Jelani raises his hands in defense, Wilkerson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Wilkerson is looking to pass into half guard but Jelani pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jelani is in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jelani throws a strike but Wilkerson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wilkerson looks up at the clock and then as Jelani takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wilkerson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Wilkerson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
