The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bender looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Medeiros is fending him off so far but Bender persists. Nope, Medeiros circles away and we're back to standing.
Medeiros feints and as Bender raises his hands in defense, Medeiros changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Medeiros must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
