Drwal has chosen Nightwish Crimson Tide as his entrance music. Takashi Katsumoto is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takashi Katsumoto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tomasz Drwal!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katsumoto has a takedown stuffed.
Katsumoto fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Drwal misses the jab.
Crunch! Drwal slams his shin into Katsumoto's torso.

Katsumoto feints and as Drwal raises his hands in defense, Katsumoto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Drwal is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Drwal is trying to break the clinch but Katsumoto is controlling him.
Katsumoto gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Drwal wants to break free but Katsumoto has control.
Drwal gets through Katsumoto's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Drwal takes an elbow to the forehead.
Drwal is stalling here.
Katsumoto is working for takedown but Drwal is calmly controlling the position for now.
Katsumoto fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takashi Katsumoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Drwal looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Drwal tries to stall but Katsumoto uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Katsumoto drops down looking for an ankle pick but Drwal pulls his leg out and moves away.
Katsumoto shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Drwal sprawls well. Drwal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Katsumoto gets slowly back to his feet.
Katsumoto misses with a looping left.
Katsumoto misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Drwal clinches.
Katsumoto goes for a takedown in the clinch but Drwal prevents it.
Katsumoto blocking some punches.
Drwal prevents the takedown attempt.
Katsumoto tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Drwal smiles and moves away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Katsumoto.

Drwal lands with a kick to the temple. Katsumoto shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Takashi Katsumoto has been cut.
Katsumoto takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Katsumoto misses with a takedown

and Drwal counters by moving into the clinch.

Drwal stops a takedown attempt from Katsumoto.
Katsumoto is looking for a takedown.
Drwal using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Katsumoto is breathing heavily.
Drwal has Katsumoto pushed against the cage.
Katsumoto has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Drwal after a bit of a struggle.
Drwal looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Katsumoto has Drwal pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Drwal manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Drwal prevents a takedown attempt there.

Katsumoto goes for a takedown attempt but Drwal pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Drwal moves in looking to clinch but Katsumoto pushes him off.
Drwal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Katsumoto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Drwal swats away the attempt to clinch by Katsumoto.
Drwal stuffs the takedown attempt from Katsumoto. Katsumoto gets slowly back to his feet.
Drwal avoids a kick to the body.
Drwal displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Katsumoto.
Drwal misses with a few strikes there.
Katsumoto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Drwal circles away.

Drwal moves into the clinch successfully.
Drwal is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Drwal gets underhooks to prevent Katsumoto's takedown attempt.
Katsumoto jumps guard but Drwal turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Katsumoto has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Drwal after a bit of a struggle.
Katsumoto is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Drwal gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Drwal tries to break the clinch but Katsumoto is controlling the position.

Drwal manages to break the clinch.
Drwal tries to clinch up.
Drwal tries to clinch but Katsumoto is having none of it.
Katsumoto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Drwal stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Katsumoto moves forwards but Drwal connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Drwal lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Katsumoto fails with a takedown attempt.
Katsumoto takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Drwal thumps Katsumoto with a low kick.
Drwal moves in looking to clinch but Katsumoto pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tomasz Drwal dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Takashi Katsumoto's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Drwal closes the distance and clinches.
Drwal is trying to maintain a safe position but Katsumoto gets an underhook and turns Drwal into the cage.

Drwal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A chopping leg kick lands by Drwal.
Katsumoto shoots in for a takedown but Drwal shows good takedown defense.
Katsumoto takes one to the side of the head.
Drwal misses the shot to the body.

Drwal closes the distance and pushes Katsumoto back into the cage.
Drwal lands a shoulder strike.
Drwal lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Drwal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Drwal changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Katsumoto ducks right into an uppercut from Drwal.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Drwal is looking to slow Katsumoto down with leg kicks.
Drwal pushes Katsumoto away with a front kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Drwal.
Drwal throws a series of punches but Katsumoto moves out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Drwal connects with a body shot that sends Katsumoto's belly button to the back.

Drwal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Katsumoto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Katsumoto creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Katsumoto avoiding damage as Drwal throws knees to the body.
Drwal wants to break free but Katsumoto has control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Drwal breaks the clinch.
Drwal fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Katsumoto has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Drwal throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Katsumoto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Katsumoto misses with a wild combination.
Tomasz Drwal seems to be getting the better of the standup.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Katsumoto.
Katsumoto shoots in for a takedown but Drwal shows good takedown defense.

Katsumoto looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Drwal blocks an elbow strike from Katsumoto.
Katsumoto is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Drwal pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Katsumoto goes for a takedown attempt but Drwal pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Katsumoto shoots in but Drwal avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Drwal scoring well with a low kick there.
Drwal dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Drwal lands a left and a right that sends Katsumoto crashing to the canvas! Drwal dives into mount looking to finish!


Katsumoto is rocked!

Drwal content just to control the position here.
Oh Katsumoto is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Drwal lands a big shot to the head and Katsumoto winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Tomasz Drwal!
Tomasz Drwal is the new middleweight champion!
An intense looking Tomasz Drwal took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'POZDRAWIAM WSZYSTKICH POLAKÓW I MAMEDA KHALIDOVA. '.
Takashi Katsumoto was interviewed post fight and said 'I want an immediate rematch! I slipped but it won't happen again!'.
