These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcellado avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Marcellado checks a leg kick.
Marcellado shoots in for a double leg but Powell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Powell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Marcellado throws the left hand but Powell avoids the punch easily.
Marcellado bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Powell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marcellado wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Marcellado is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Powell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Marcellado goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Powell rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Marcellado's guard! Nice work there by Powell!

Powell has his hands clasped together but Marcellado extends and breaks Powell's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Marcellado.
