Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Salas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tadeya Shooto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Salas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 2 PAC Picture Me Rollin . Marcelo Salas has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcelo Salas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tadeya Shooto! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salas with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shooto to score with a decent uppercut. Salas missing with a left hand there. Shooto was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Salas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Shooto gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Salas. Shooto lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Salas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Shooto misses with a looping left. Salas lands with a good body shot. Shooto steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Salas. Salas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Shooto looks to throw the jab but Salas is out of range. Salas cracks Shooto with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shooto takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Salas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Salas shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Salas throws a big shot that misses. Shooto ducks right into an uppercut from Salas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shooto throws a big shot that misses. Salas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Salas misses with a double jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Salas throws out a loose jab but Shooto uses good head movement to avoid it. Salas connects with an inside leg kick. Salas moves away from the strike by Shooto. Shooto throws the left hand but Salas avoids the punch easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Salas lands with a good body shot. Salas throws a nice inside leg kick. Shooto moves out of range of the body kick. Shooto throws the left hand but Salas avoids the punch easily. Salas lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Salas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shooto. Salas lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Salas. Salas jabbing away but nothing is landing. Salas connects with an inside leg kick. Salas fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shooto has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Shooto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Shooto counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nice body punch from Salas. Salas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Salas throws a nice outside leg kick. Shooto looks winded! Shooto takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Salas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shooto has time to react. Salas thumps Shooto with a low kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shooto walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Shooto might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Shooto walks into a left hand. Salas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Shooto takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Salas moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Shooto goes down! Can Salas finish him!?
Shooto is rocked! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Shooto wants to control the position but Salas says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Shooto is still in real trouble! Can Salas finish him? Shooto trying to control here.
Salas wants to get back to his feet.
Shooto seems to have recovered his senses. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shooto wants to get back to full guard but Salas has passed into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcelo Salas dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tadeya Shooto's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Salas moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Shooto goes down! Can Salas finish him!? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Salas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Shooto is proving hard to escape from. Shooto wants to stand up but Salas is controlling him. Salas wants to stand but Shooto has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Salas definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Shooto paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Salas lands with an uppercut that bounces Shooto off the cage and back into range. Salas misses the jab. Salas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shooto.
Salas is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Salas slips under a jab from Shooto. Salas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shooto. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shooto needs to keep his hands up - Salas had a free shot at his head there. Salas feints and then cracks Shooto's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shooto down. Shooto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Salas can pounce on him.
Salas throws a nice inside leg kick. Shooto is breathing heavily. Shooto on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Salas moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Salas throws a shot from downtown. Shooto moves away and avoids it. Shooto loads up on a big right hand but Salas slips the punch. Salas jabs Shooto right on the nose. Shooto blinks but takes it well. Shooto has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Shooto there as he acknowledges the shot. Salas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shooto. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Salas.
Shooto swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Salas scores with a nice strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Salas looks to score with a jab to the body but Shooto is just out of range. Salas thumps Shooto with a low kick. Tadeya Shooto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Shooto looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
