Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kip Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marshall Mathers!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mathers drives through and clinches with Cote against the cage.

Cote tightens his grip and picks Mathers up, before dumping him to the ground. Mathers manages to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Mathers throws his legs up looking for a submission but Cote uses it to pass to side control.
Mathers can't do much from the bottom here.
Mathers is looking to reverse the position.
Mathers is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cote is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Cote stands up from mount. Strange move.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cote takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mathers moves to clinch but Cote breaks away

and Cote counters with a single leg into guard. Mathers didn't expect that.

Mathers looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cote passes into side control.

Mathers throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Mathers is looking to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mathers wants to clinch

and Cote counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mathers works his way to full guard. Good work.
Mathers has a closed guard, preventing Cote from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mathers pulls Cote in close to his closed guard and prevents Cote from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mathers looking for a sweep. Not yet Mathers, not yet.

Cote gets to his feet. Mathers looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Mathers tries to clinch but Cote moves out of range.

Mathers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Mathers is pressed up against the cage. Cote has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mathers down to the mat. Mathers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mathers connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Cote tumbling to the canvas! Mathers pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Cote was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Marshall Mathers!
