Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Kincaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kincaid has chosen Converge - as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gunnar Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Billy Kincaid!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kincaid displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nelson throws out the jab.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kincaid's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kincaid throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kincaid lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nelson at a distance.
Kincaid shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nelson as he jumps to the side.
Nelson swings for the body but Kincaid moves out of range.
Kincaid finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kincaid has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nelson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kincaid uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Nelson has time to react.

Nelson jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Nelson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Nelson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Kincaid lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nelson circles away quickly and effectively.
Kincaid misses with an uppercut.

Kincaid is bucking up trying to escape but Nelson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Nelson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Nelson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kincaid back to the cage. Nelson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Nelson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Nelson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Nelson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kincaid fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nelson on the side of the head.
Kincaid jabs Nelson right on the nose. Nelson blinks but takes it well.
Kincaid throws a shot from downtown. Nelson moves away and avoids it.
The crowd cheers as Kincaid lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nelson doesn't seem phased though.

Nelson jumps guard but Kincaid turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Kincaid escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kincaid lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nelson moves away from the strike by Kincaid.
Nelson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kincaid's calf.

Nelson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kincaid.

Nelson feints and then cracks Kincaid's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kincaid down.
Kincaid ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nelson moves away.

Kincaid might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nelson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Billy Kincaid hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Nelson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Nelson swings wildly with an uppercut but Kincaid uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kincaid is trying to break the clinch but Nelson is controlling him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
