Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arlie Durham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewart French (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arlie Durham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stewart French! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! French has a takedown stuffed. French connects with a body shot. French doesn't manage to clinch there - Durham circles away.
French is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. French throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Durham checks a low kick from French. French shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Durham sprawls well. Durham wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. French gets slowly back to his feet. French shoots in but no luck this time. Arlie Durham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stewart French. French throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. French is looking to take this fight into the clinch. French shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Durham counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. French wants to sweep here but Durham controlling him for the moment. Durham wants to get up but he can't break French's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. French looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Durham passes into side control.
Durham tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. French wants to get back to his feet. French is trying to work for a sweep but Durham has mounted him! Durham manages to capitalize on a mistake by French to take his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy French right now.
French trying to control but not successfully. You can see the frustration on French's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Durham gets his hands free as French looks to control. Durham gets to his feet! The crowd go wild in anticipation of a knockout!
That's four minutes gone in the round. French tries to clinch but Durham moves out of range. French shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Durham counters with a takedown into side control. Durham decides to stand up, so the ref orders French to his feet. French throws a head kick but Durham moves out of range.
French looks winded! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. French tries to close the distance and clinch up but Durham swats him away and circles back towards the center. French throws a left and a right that both miss
and Durham counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in French's guard now. French throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arlie Durham dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
French tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Durham circles away from the clinch attempt and Durham counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Durham. French looking to hit a scissor sweep but Durham is one step ahead there. Arlie Durham overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Durham gets to his feet - French follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. French shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Durham counters with a nice double leg into guard. French is trying to hold Durham in close to prevent damage but Durham has managed to pass into half guard.
Durham is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Durham could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Durham decides to return to a standing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Durham displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from French. The fight stays on the outside here - French looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Arlie Durham is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. French misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Arlie Durham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stewart French. Durham leaves French with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. French tries to score a power double leg takedown but Durham sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten French somewhat. French is breathing heavily. French shoots in for a takedown but Durham shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. French has his takedown stuffed and Durham counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for French!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Durham decides to stand up, so the ref orders French to his feet. Stewart French seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. French tries to score a power double leg takedown but Durham sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten French somewhat. French gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Durham counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Durham decides to take the fight back to the feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. French throws a leg kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arlie Durham dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
A bone on bone clash there as Durham blocks the leg kick.
French darts in looking for a takedown but Durham gets double underhooks and turns French into the cage. Durham avoids the elbow strike from French, against the cage.
French tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Durham avoids it. French jumps guard but Durham turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. French tries for a takedown but Durham manages to get underhooks.
Arlie Durham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stewart French. Durham prevents the takedown attempt.

Durham has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. French is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Durham drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
French takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Durham has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. French avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. French fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Durham has French pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. French manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Durham drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
French has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Durham after a bit of a struggle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Durham turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! French tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on French's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. French isn't going anywhere.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durham stands up and we're back to a striking position. French doesn't succeed with the takedown and Durham counters with a single leg into guard. French didn't expect that. Durham wants to stand but French has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Durham might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. French is looking to sweep but instead, Durham has passed into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. French is trying to control but Durham manages to pass to mount!
Durham gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. French closes the distance and clinches up with Durham, looking for a takedown. French pushes Durham against the cage but Durham circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stewart French has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Arlie Durham is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Durham showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from French.
And that's the end of the fight! Arlie Durham showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Durham, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
