Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Hemingway! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Krzysztof Kothciushco! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemingway drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
It looks like James Hemingway has been cut. Hemingway throws out a loose jab but Kothciushco uses good head movement to avoid it. Hemingway goes for a double leg but Kothciushco avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kothciushco continues to drive forward. Hemingway avoiding damage as Kothciushco throws knees to the body.

Kothciushco unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hemingway lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Hemingway looking for a takedown. We've been informed that Kothciushco has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. This has been an exciting period of action! Kothciushco trying to land knees to the body.
Kothciushco's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hemingway is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kothciushco sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Hemingway. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hemingway tries to move into range but Kothciushco moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Hemingway on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Hemingway is breathing heavily. Hemingway takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hemingway tries to bum rush Kothciushco with a series of wild strikes but Kothciushco uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kothciushco scores with the left hand. Hemingway knows he should have avoided that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kothciushco lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
James Hemingway's cut is getting worse. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hemingway is defended easily by Kothciushco. Hemingway has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Hemingway loses concentration momentarily and Kothciushco pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Hemingway crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Kothciushco finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
