Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Warwick Martigan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
28 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gorge Jurgel!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martigan lands an overhand right.
Martigan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jurgel scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Martigan doesn't seem bothered though.
Jurgel moves out of range as Martigan strikes.
Martigan lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jurgel lands a jab to Martigan's midsection.
Jurgel walks into a straight right hand from Martigan.
Martigan thows a body shot but no joy.
Jurgel has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Martigan finds it's way round the side to connect with Jurgel's head.
Jurgel throws out a loose jab but Martigan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Martigan lands with a hook. Jurgel tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Martigan's corner calls for a 1-2. Martigan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jurgel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Martigan was well out of range. Poor timing from Jurgel.
Martigan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jurgel manages to avoid it.
Jurgel throws a hook but Martigan avoids it easily.
Martigan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jurgel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Martigan keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jurgel.
Martigan's corner calls for a 1-2. Martigan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jurgel takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Jurgel is rocked!
Martigan is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Jurgel backs away from a small jab... but Martigan lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Jurgel crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Martigan with a spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Warwick Martigan!
During a confident post fight interview, Warwick Martigan thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
