PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a low kick, looking for Garcia's leg but Garcia calmly moves out of range.
Garcia throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Garcia throws a big shot that misses.
Garcia throws a hook but Jackson blocks it.
Garcia tests Jackson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jackson moves out of range of the strikes.
Garcia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like John Jackson has been cut.
Jackson misses the shot to the body.
Jackson blocks a head kick by Garcia.

Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Garcia manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jackson lands strikes from half guard.
Jackson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jackson working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Garcia is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jackson is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Jackson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Garcia is defending well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackson in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garcia is pressing down on Jackson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Garcia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Garcia definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Garcia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Garcia looking for a triangle here. Jackson is fighting it but it looks tight! Garcia pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jackson is tapping out - this one is all over!
