Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincenzo Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Boxhorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vincenzo Acevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ian Boxhorn! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acevedo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Boxhorn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Acevedo tries to buck Boxhorn off but Boxhorn is having none of it. You can see the frustration on Acevedo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boxhorn wants to stand but Acevedo has his arm trapped. Boxhorn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Acevedo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Acevedo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Boxhorn's best efforts. Acevedo has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Boxhorn is on him like a limpet, forcing Acevedo back against the cage. Acevedo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Boxhorn feints and as Acevedo raises his hands in defense, Boxhorn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Boxhorn wants to stand and escape but instead Acevedo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxhorn keeping moving, preventing Acevedo from controlling successfully. Acevedo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Acevedo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boxhorn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Acevedo trying to control but Boxhorn is working from the bottom. Boxhorn is looking to stand up but Acevedo isn't so interested in that idea. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boxhorn can do anything to dispel that myth. Acevedo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boxhorn is keeping the position for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vincenzo Acevedo. A big left from Boxhorn misses. A slow jab from Boxhorn misses its intended target. Acevedo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Acevedo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Boxhorn. Boxhorn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Acevedo wants to control but Boxhorn is keeping busy and won't allow it. Acevedo tries to get to full guard but Boxhorn has control of the leg. Acevedo wants to control but Boxhorn is keeping busy.
Acevedo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boxhorn wants to stand but Acevedo has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Acevedo gets back to full guard.

Acevedo shoots in and drives through. Boxhorn sprawls well. Boxhorn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Boxhorn missing with a left hand there. Acevedo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Some wild striking there from Acevedo.
Acevedo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Boxhorn counters with a nice double leg into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Acevedo has a closed guard, preventing Boxhorn from standing up. Boxhorn wants to stand and escape but instead Acevedo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ian Boxhorn will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Acevedo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Boxhorn lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Boxhorn shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Acevedo trying to hold on to Boxhorn's head to control him but Boxhorn postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Boxhorn has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Acevedo works to full guard. Boxhorn would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Acevedo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Boxhorn wants to get back to his feet. Acevedo escapes and gets back to his feet. Acevedo stuffs the takedown.

Acevedo tries to clinch up and Boxhorn counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Acevedo! Boxhorn is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Acevedo is trying to control Boxhorn's posture but Boxhorn avoids it. Boxhorn wants to stand but Acevedo has his arm trapped. Acevedo is looking to reverse the position. Boxhorn working away. Boxhorn wants to stand but Acevedo is controlling his arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acevedo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Boxhorn off and has taken his back! A lull in the action here.
Boxhorn is trying to stand back up. Acevedo throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Boxhorn is trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boxhorn staying busy and making it hard for Acevedo to control. Boxhorn is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Boxhorn is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Ian Boxhorn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Acevedo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boxhorn moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Acevedo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Boxhorn shoots in for a takedown but Acevedo shows good takedown defense. A momentary lapse in concentration from Acevedo enables Boxhorn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Acevedo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Boxhorn tries to stand but Acevedo is controlling from the bottom. Acevedo is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Boxhorn presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Boxhorn is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Acevedo to keep the fight standing. Boxhorn gets control of Acevedo's arms and successfully pulls guard. Boxhorn will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Acevedo passes Boxhorn's left leg - he's now in half guard. Acevedo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Boxhorn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxhorn is refusing to be controlled, as Acevedo sits in half guard. Boxhorn keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Acevedo seems to be working for a kimura but Boxhorn defends the submission attempt. Acevedo prevents Boxhorn from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ian Boxhorn has got the better of the ground game so far. Boxhorn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Acevedo trying to control from half guard but Boxhorn is working away. Boxhorn is trying to stand back up but Acevedo is controlling him

We're going to have a standup here because Vincenzo Acevedo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Horrible takedown by Acevedo or perhaps it was just good defense by Boxhorn which made him look bad. Acevedo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Boxhorn. Boxhorn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Acevedo counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Boxhorn has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Acevedo uses from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boxhorn wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Acevedo manages to pass to side control. Acevedo wants to control but Boxhorn is keeping him busy. Acevedo prevents Boxhorn from standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Boxhorn tries to kick Acevedo off but Acevedo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Acevedo is looking to take a break and control but Boxhorn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Acevedo stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Boxhorn throws a right hand that Acevedo ducks under and follows up with a left that Acevedo also avoids with ease. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Acevedo shoots in for a takedown but Boxhorn shows good takedown defense. Ian Boxhorn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boxhorn shoots in but no luck this time. Vincenzo Acevedo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vincenzo Acevedo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Boxhorn. A big right from Boxhorn misses.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vincenzo Acevedo. I think Boxhorn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
