Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tom Sheppard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Krafth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent Krafth has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tom Sheppard's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Sheppard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kent Krafth!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheppard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Krafth circles away.
Krafth lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Krafth.

Krafth is trying to force a seperation but Sheppard has the dominant position.
Krafth's coach down at Morbid Conditioning School $75 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Krafth's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Sheppard is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Krafth gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Sheppard tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Krafth defends well and Sheppard ends up having to push Krafth into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Krafth stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Krafth wants it to stay on the feet.

Kent Krafth is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sheppard throws a leg kick but Krafth sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Krafth slaps away a takedown attempt from Sheppard, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tom Sheppard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Krafth, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Tom Sheppard will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sheppard shoots in for a takedown but Krafth shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sheppard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krafth paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sheppard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Krafth pinned against the cage. Krafth gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Krafth stalks Sheppard and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sheppard's face. Sheppard staggers backwards, shaken.

Sheppard tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Krafth just stands there and leans against the cage.

Krafth throws a strike but Sheppard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Krafth wants to improve his position but instead Sheppard has moved into half guard.

Sheppard is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Krafth is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
