The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yossarian moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
John Yossarian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yossarian throws a leg kick but Sagat sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Yossarian tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sagat is able to avoid easily.

Sagat seems keen to control Yossarian's posture.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Some bone on bone action there as Yossarian checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Sagat is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Sagat enables Yossarian to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sagat manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Yossarian throws a lazy right hand but Sagat sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yossarian takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

John Yossarian seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Sagat really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Sagat counters with a low kick, right behind Yossarian 's knee.
Sagat defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yossarian.
Sagat throws an overhand right that lands on Yossarian's shoulder, as Yossarian tries to avoid the shot.
Victor Sagat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sagat takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Yossarian moves out of range as Sagat throws a body kick.
Yossarian punishes Sagat's body with a nice straight punch.
Sagat walks forward, straight into a front kick from Yossarian.
Yossarian pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Yossarian closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sagat did well to prevent Yossarian getting side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sagat is trying to maintain the position but Yossarian is very close to passing his half guard.

John Yossarian showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Victor Sagat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Sagat stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yossarian swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yossarian is trying to keep Sagat in close.
Yossarian throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sagat escapes and throws Yossarian's legs to the side, diving into side control!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Yossarian looks to move to half guard but instead Sagat has passed into mount! Damn!
John Yossarian is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Victor Sagat.
Well Yossarian has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
