PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Batson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Van Gundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bill Batson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Stan Van Gundy!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Gundy tries a head kick but it misses.

Van Gundy has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Van Gundy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Batson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Van Gundy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Batson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Van Gundy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Van Gundy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
