Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Valentin Stokes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nessa Thor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nessa Thor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thor fails with the takedown
and Stokes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Stokes lands with a punch from half guard.
Thor should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Thor is looking to escape.
Well, if Stokes is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Stokes is working for a submission of some sort.
Thor wants to control but Stokes passes into side.

Thor prevents a body shot from Stokes.
Thor is looking to break free of the clinch but Stokes has double underhooks.
Stokes is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Thor can't fight it off and eventually Stokes manages to take the fight to the floor. Thor looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Thor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stokes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Stokes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Thor's guard now.
Thor is breathing heavily.

Stokes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Stokes seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Thor for as long as he can get away with.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Stokes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Thor to his feet.

Thor throws a nice looking combination but Stokes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Stokes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stokes is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Thor has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Thor takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Stokes is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Thor to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Thor shrugs it off.
Stokes lands a couple of good shots and Thor has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Stokes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Valentin Stokes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Thor is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Stokes is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Thor is defending well though. Stokes let's go of the attempt for now.
Stokes has got one arm under Thor's chin. This could be trouble... Thor trying to control the other hand but Stokes gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Thor has tapped out! The fight is over!
