Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brandon Robertson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mitchell Davies! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davies fails to land with a series of punches.
Robertson leaves Davies with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Robertson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Robertson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Davies darts in trying to clinch and Robertson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Robertson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Nice takedown defense from Robertson. No joy for Davies on that attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Robertson stuffs the takedown attempt from Davies. Davies gets slowly back to his feet. Brandon Robertson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mitchell Davies. Davies looks winded! Robertson checks a low kick from Davies. Davies closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Davies lands in his opponent's guard. Robertson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davies closes the distance looking to clinch and Robertson counters with a takedown into side control. Robertson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Davies swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Robertson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Robertson decides to stand up. Davies goes for a double leg but Robertson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Robertson continues to drive forward.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robertson wants a takedown.
Robertson wants to take the fight to the mat but Davies manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Robertson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Davies avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Davies prevents a takedown attempt there.
Robertson has Davies pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Davies manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Robertson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Davies is trying to work for a sweep but Robertson has mounted him!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davies tries to improve his position but instead Robertson has taken his back! Robertson gets to his feet and calls for his opponent to stand and trade! Heeeere we go!
Robertson tries to keep at a distance but Davies has taken the fight into the clinch. Robertson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Davies gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Davies tries for a takedown but Robertson manages to get underhooks.

Robertson circles away from the clinch attempt and Robertson counters with a shoot takedown. Davies fights it but they end up in guard. Davies has his foot on Robertson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robertson works his way back into a safe position though. Robertson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Davies is breathing heavily. Davies misses with a wild body shot. Robertson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Davies.

Davies tries to clinch up and Robertson counters with a single leg into guard. Davies didn't expect that. Davies is working an open guard so Robertson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Davies throws a body kick despite being completely out of range so Robertson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davies is working an open guard so Robertson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davies is defended easily by Robertson. Davies shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Robertson sprawls well. Robertson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davies gets slowly back to his feet. so Robertson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Robertson stands up and waves to Davies to follow him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davies takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Robertson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Robertson swats away the attempt to clinch by Davies. Davies tries to clinch but Robertson is having none of it.

so Robertson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davies is working an open guard so Robertson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Davies shoots for a takedown but Robertson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Robertson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Davies can do to turn this around? Davies misses with a double jab.
Davies throws a combination that misses and Robertson counters with a single leg into guard. Davies didn't expect that. Robertson gets to his feet. Davies looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Davies shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Robertson but Robertson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davies lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Robertson circles away quickly and effectively. Davies will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Brandon Robertson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mitchell Davies. Davies tries to score a power double leg takedown but Robertson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Davies somewhat. Robertson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Robertson wants it to stay on the feet. Brandon Robertson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Robertson steps back and let's Davies get back to his feet. Davies shoots in for a double leg but Robertson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Davies closes the distance and clinches up with Robertson, looking for a takedown. Davies pushes Robertson against the cage but Robertson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Robertson circles away from the clinch attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Davies tries a low kick but Robertson avoids it. Mitchell Davies has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brandon Robertson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Davies throws a combination that misses and Robertson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davies's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Brandon Robertson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Robertson, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
