Malians comes to the cage accompanied by Right Now - Van Halen. Matt Malians has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belechnyiven misses with a takedown attempt - Malians sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Belechnyiven gets a clinch.
Belechnyiven jumps guard but Malians stands there with Belechnyiven around his waist. Belechnyiven gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Malians tries to score a body lock takedown but Belechnyiven shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Malians manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Belechnyiven gets to his feet - Malians follows without any prompting.

Malians changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Belechnyiven looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Belechnyiven pushes Malians away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Malians gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Belechnyiven is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Malians off and has taken his back!

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Malians will probably get the nod.

so Malians counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Belechnyiven has his foot on Malians's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malians works his way back into a safe position though.
Belechnyiven has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Malians can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malians accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
