Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Messer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Kruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kruiz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: ZARILA KANDZE. The key to victory for Mark Messer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Messer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tom Kruiz! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Messer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kruiz doesn't manage to clinch there - Messer circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kruiz wants to sweep but no luck. Kruiz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kruiz is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Messer connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kruiz. Kruiz circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Kruiz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Messer tries to avoid it but Kruiz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Messer to the ground. Messer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mark Messer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Kruiz. Messer slaps away a takedown attempt from Kruiz, before circling back to the center of the mat. Messer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Kruiz swings for the body but Messer moves out of range.

No luck for Kruiz with that takedown attempt. Messer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kruiz circles away quickly and effectively. Messer thows a body shot but no joy. Kruiz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kruiz gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Messer. Messer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Messer leaves Kruiz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Messer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Messer scores with a three punch combo!
Messer changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kruiz closes the distance and clinches up with Messer, looking for a takedown. Kruiz pushes Messer against the cage but Messer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nice shot lands for Messer. Kruiz shoots in but no luck this time. Kruiz is breathing heavily. Messer throws a series of punches but Kruiz avoids them all with ease. Messer misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Messer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Messer. Kruiz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Messer defends well and Kruiz ends up having to push Messer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Messer obliges. Kruiz is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Messer is defending well. Messer stalling in the clinch.
Messer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mark Messer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Messer looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Kruiz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Messer. Messer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tom Kruiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters roll with the hold and Messer manages to kick Kruiz off! Kruiz jumps back into Messer's guard. Kruiz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Messer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Messer has escaped and now he's on top! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
