Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Whoop ya Head boi. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Penn!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Silva successfully pulls guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Penn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Silva keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully.
Silva managing to control the position.
Penn trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jay Penn.
Penn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Penn won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Penn keeps working.

Penn is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Silva moves into full mount! Penn won't be happy about that!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Silva tries to control but Penn wriggling away.
Penn is wriggling around trying to escape.
Penn is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

It looks like Jay Penn has been cut.
A big strike lands for Silva! That's really hurt Penn and he's turned his back - Silva keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Silva jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Silva!
