The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stringfellow tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davidson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stringfellow throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davidson's waist but Davidson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stringfellow off to one side.

Stringfellow forces Davidson back against the cage and clinches.
Davidson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Stringfellow after a bit of a struggle.

Stringfellow is looking for a sweep. Davidson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Davidson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Stringfellow manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Davidson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stringfellow avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Stringfellow is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Davidson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davidson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Stringfellow regains guard immediately.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stringfellow wants to control but Davidson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tommie L Stringfellow hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
