Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
White blocks a leg kick.

Bishop closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming White to the mat! White manages to get full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bishop is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bishop must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bryan Bishop hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
White fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Bishop shoots in and gets a takedown into White's guard.
Bishop lands a couple of elbows.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing good reports from White's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

White is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bishop pulls his head out easily.

Bishop takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
White might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are battling for position here. White manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Bishop seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bryan Bishop wasn't active enough on the ground.

Bishop feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

You can see the frustration on White's face as Bishop controls the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

It looks like George White has been cut.
Bishop lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryan Bishop showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bryan Bishop was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Bishop passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for White!
Bishop takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

BOOM! Bishop connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Bishop postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. White looks a forlorn figure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bishop prevents White from getting the reversal.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bryan Bishop comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bishop has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
