Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gary Stilies! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, William Wallace! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Stilies throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've been hearing reports that Stilies has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Wallace avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stilies stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stilies wants it to stay on the feet. Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown but Stilies manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wallace's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gary Stilies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Wallace. Wallace shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stilies defends it nicely. Stilies misses with a body shot.
Wallace fails with a takedown attempt. Stilies looks to score with a jab to the body but Wallace is just out of range. Wallace shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stilies defends it nicely. Wallace tries to move into range but Stilies moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like William Wallace has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stilies pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wallace back to the cage. Stilies follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Stilies lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wallace circles away quickly and effectively. Stilies throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Wallace instigates a clinch. Stilies breaks from the clinch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Stilies!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Horrible takedown by Wallace or perhaps it was just good defense by Stilies which made him look bad. Wallace on the wrong end of a nice hook. Wallace cracks Stilies with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Wallace darts in looking for a takedown but Stilies gets double underhooks and turns Wallace into the cage. Wallace manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Stilies wants to stand but Wallace has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Wallace controls Stilies momentarily but Stilies frees himself. Stilies tries to stand but Wallace is controlling from the bottom. Stilies gets to his feet - Wallace follows without any prompting. Stilies fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Wallace clinches up with Stilies and pushes him back against the cage. Wallace can't get the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace tries to pull guard but Stilies forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Stilies can't break the clinch.
Stilies is trying to force a seperation but Wallace has the dominant position. Wallace tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stilies smiles and moves away.
Stilies stuffs the takedown. Wallace looks winded! Wallace is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stilies staying out of range there. Stilies swings for the body but Wallace moves out of range.
Wallace throws a sloppy head kick and Stilies moves out of range easily. Stilies misses the body punch and Wallace counters with a series of strikes. Stilies will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stilies scoring well with a low kick there.
Wallace moves in looking to clinch but Stilies pushes him off. A big left from Stilies misses. Stilies keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wallace shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stilies but Stilies pushes him off and we're back to square one. Stilies scores with the left hand. Wallace knows he should have avoided that one. Wallace fails with the takedown. No joy there for Stilies, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stilies takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
That has opened up William Wallace's cut even more. Some wild striking there from Stilies.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Stilies dominated that round. The cut man is working on William Wallace's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A big right from Stilies misses. Wallace has his takedown stuffed and Stilies counters with a slapping leg kick. Wallace shoots in but no luck this time. Wallace fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gary Stilies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Wallace. Stilies looking to score a takedown here. Wallace is defending well but Stilies drives through and ends up in Wallace's guard. Wallace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stilies can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stilies gets to his feet. Wallace looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Stilies throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Stilies misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gary Stilies is winning the standup battle so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stilies jabs at Wallace's body. Wallace is breathing heavily. Stilies scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Stilies throws a left that rocks Wallace and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Stilies dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Wallace regain composure!
Wallace is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Stilies has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Wallace is still on wobbly legs! Can Stilies finish him? Stilies lands with a nice body punch. Stilies scores with a decent looking hook. Gary Stilies is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sloppy strikes from Stilies. Those never looked like landing. Stilies drops Wallace with a naaaaasty hook - Wallace is in real trouble here! Stilies dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

A very excited looking Gary Stilies made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
