Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tuukka Rask (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anzhor Azhiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anzhor Azhiev is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tuukka Rask! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anzhor Azhiev! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rask closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Azhiev to the mat! Azhiev manages to get full guard. Rask gets to his feet. Azhiev looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Azhiev tries to clinch but Rask is having none of it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Rask. Rask tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rask has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Azhiev tries to buck Rask off but Rask is having none of it. Rask connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Azhiev some visible discomfort.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rask is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Azhiev has escaped the position, nice work there. Azhiev tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rask wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. A lull in the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rask wants to control but Azhiev is keeping him busy. Rask tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rask trying to control the position but Azhiev is working away. Azhiev is trying to get back to half guard. Azhiev is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rask's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Rask looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Azhiev is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rask pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rask seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Azhiev does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Rask is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Rask lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Azhiev is desperately trying to improve his position but Rask has a good base and remains in mount. Rask wants to control the pace but Azhiev is squirming around nicely. Rask landing strikes from the mount and Azhiev is in trouble! Rask will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Azhiev gets back to half guard. Rask looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Azhiev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Rask is working for a kimura but Azhiev is defending it quite comfortably.
Rask is taking a breather. Azhiev says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Rask trying to control the action but Azhiev is working from the bottom.

Rask content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Rask landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Rask is trying to control. Azhiev wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rask prevents Azhiev from improving his position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rask is looking to take a break and control but Azhiev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rask prevents Azhiev from improving his position.

Azhiev actively working from the bottom here. Azhiev looks winded! Rask trying to control from half guard but Azhiev is working away. Rask is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rask with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rask is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rask lands with some strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tuukka Rask dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rask lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Azhiev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Rask keeps the fight on the outside. Azhiev closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Danga de danga de dang - Rask scores with a four punch combination! Rask clinches with his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action! Rask is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Azhiev can't fight it off and eventually Rask manages to take the fight to the floor. Azhiev looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Rask missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Azhiev working for a triangle but Rask defends it easily.
Rask trying to control the position from guard on top but Azhiev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rask is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Azhiev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tuukka Rask overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rask is pushing down on Azhiev's leg trying to pass to half guard. Azhiev is fighting to maintain full guard but Rask has managed to sneak the leg through. Azhiev is not content to let Rask control the position. Rask stalling away here and it's allowed Azhiev to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Rask not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rask sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Azhiev's guard. Rask controlling the pace. Rask has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Azhiev looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Azhiev is breathing heavily. Rask frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Rask wants to finish this one by submission but Azhiev is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rask.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Azhiev regains half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rask is trying to control. Azhiev wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rask stalling. Rask sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Azhiev defending well though. Azhiev looking for submissions off his back. Rask passes to side control. Rask thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rask wants to control but Azhiev is keeping him busy.
