Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Slurms Mckenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Poutsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Slurms Mckenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tim Poutsi!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mckenzie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Poutsi.
Poutsi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mckenzie can pounce on him.
Poutsi on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Poutsi scores with a shot to the body.
Mckenzie lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Poutsi's corner calls for a 1-2. Poutsi obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Poutsi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mckenzie is fending him off so far but Poutsi persists. Nope, Mckenzie circles away and we're back to standing.

Poutsi darts in looking for a takedown but Mckenzie gets double underhooks and turns Poutsi into the cage.
Slurms Mckenzie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Poutsi.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mckenzie tries to break free but Poutsi pushes him back against the cage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Poutsi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Mckenzie trying to control the position but instead, Poutsi has worked for underhooks and has pushed Mckenzie into the cage.
Poutsi has a couple of punches blocked by Mckenzie.
Poutsi has Mckenzie pressed against the cage, preventing Mckenzie from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Mckenzie wants to get back to striking at distance but Poutsi won't allow it.
Poutsi cracks Mckenzie with a nice body shot.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Poutsi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Mckenzie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Mckenzie counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Poutsi is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Mckenzie misses with a head kick.

and Poutsi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Mckenzie turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Mckenzie tries to land a front kick but Poutsi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Poutsi won't allow Mckenzie to sweep him here.
Poutsi is looking to work some ground and pound but Mckenzie has wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tim Poutsi was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Mckenzie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Poutsi to score with a decent uppercut.

Poutsi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mckenzie has time to react.

Slurms Mckenzie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mckenzie lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mckenzie.
Mckenzie looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The fighters circling - Poutsi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Poutsi takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Poutsi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tim Poutsi will probably get the nod.

Poutsi lands a body shot in the clinch.

Poutsi lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A nice right hand lands inside from Poutsi.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mckenzie, as that shot connected.

Poutsi tries to close the distance and clinch but Mckenzie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Poutsi digs a good body shot into Mckenzie's ribs.
Poutsi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mckenzie backs up against the cage.


It looks like Slurms Mckenzie has been cut.
Mckenzie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Poutsi throws a right and a left that Mckenzie avoids nicely.
Mckenzie throws a head kick but Poutsi moves out of range.
Poutsi connects with a nice looking jab.

Poutsi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Poutsi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mckenzie's head.

Mckenzie is looking to get back to is feet but Poutsi passes into side control.

Mckenzie is looking to improve his position but Poutsi isn't that keen on the idea.
The referee warns Mckenzie that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Oh Mckenzie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Poutsi cracks Mckenzie with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tim Poutsi!
A less than humble Tim Poutsi misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
