PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Janno Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bert Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gibbs comes into the arena with Apocalypse Please blaring out of the sound system. Bert Reynolds told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibbs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Reynolds throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gibbs fails with the takedown.
Reynolds tries for a takedown but Gibbs circles away easily

and Gibbs counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gibbs thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Reynolds gets back to full guard.
Gibbs has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Gibbs throwing strikes from guard but Reynolds blocks nicely.
Gibbs working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Our spies down at at The Gym inform us that Reynolds has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Gibbs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reynolds on the ground.

Reynolds is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Gibbs frees his head nicely. Oh but Reynolds has switched to an armbar! Gibbs is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
