Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Polk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Slayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Polk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruce Slayton! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polk throws a half hearted mid kick. We've been told by Polk's head coaches at Korea Elite MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Slayton looks to land a right hand but Polk moved out of range. Slayton tries a head kick but it misses.
Polk throws a quick inside leg kick. Polk tries to work over Slayton's front leg with a kick but Slayton checks it. The fighters circling - Polk throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Slayton looks to land a combination but Polk avoids it well. Slayton misses with a jab, cross combination.

Slayton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Polk swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Slayton trying to control the position from guard on top but Polk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Polk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Slayton missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Slayton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Polk looking for a sweep. Not yet Polk, not yet. Slayton wants to control from the top but Polk keeps moving. Polk preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bruce Slayton was stalling too much, according to the referee. Polk avoids a punch combination nicely.
A combination from Slayton does no damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Polk misses with a looping right. Polk thumps Slayton with a low kick. Polk connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Slayton avoids the head kick by Polk.

A head kick misses from Polk. Bruce Slayton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Slayton takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Slayton connects with a right hand. Polk shakes it off. Polk fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Slayton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Sloppy strikes from Slayton. Those never looked like landing. Polk lands a nice looking kick to the body. Slayton takes a step back to recover. Polk lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Slayton throws a right and a left that Polk avoids nicely. Polk throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Slayton's head. That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A slapping leg kick lands for Polk.

and Polk counters with a straight right hand. Slayton throws a right and a left that Polk avoids nicely. Polk jabbing away but nothing is landing. Polk cracks the inside of Slayton's front leg. Polk uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Slayton has time to react. Slayton throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Polk. That's four minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Polk. Slayton has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Polk. This has been an exciting period of action! Polk throws a head kick but Slayton moves out of range.
Slayton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Polk circles away quickly and effectively. Slayton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Slayton is breathing heavily. Polk shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Polk throws a low kick but Slayton moves out of range easily. A big left from Slayton misses. Polk wants to land a leg kick but Slayton is out of range. Polk scores with a leg kick.
The fighters circling - Slayton throws out the jab but it was never going to land. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Slayton has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Polk finds it's way round the side to connect with Slayton's head. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Slayton checks a leg kick. Slayton paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Slayton pushing out the jab but it's not landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slayton might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Polk connects with a single shot there. Slayton throws a right and a left that both miss. Polk swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Slayton. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Polk, as that shot connected.

Slayton throws a hook to the side of Polk's head but Polk sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Slayton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Polk circles away quickly and effectively. Polk scores with a head kick.
Slayton is still on wobbly legs! Can Polk finish him? Polk rushes Slayton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Polk comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Polk creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Slayton's defenses. Polk unloads a knee to the mid-section. Slayton lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Polk creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Slayton! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Polk.
