Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derek Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Protagonist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waters comes to the cage accompanied by Hip Hop. Protagonist comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Teenage Bottlerocket - Bigger Than Kiss kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Hiro Protagonist has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Derek Waters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Hiro Protagonist!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters misses with a low kick.
Waters lands a front kick.
Protagonist throws out a loose jab but Waters uses good head movement to avoid it.
Waters tries to clinch but Protagonist moves out of range.
Waters wants to land a leg kick but Protagonist is out of range.
Protagonist tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A bone on bone clash there as Waters blocks the leg kick.
Protagonist bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Waters's head.
Waters circles away from the clinch attempt.
Protagonist stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Waters.
Waters lands with an uppercut that bounces Protagonist off the cage and back into range.
Protagonist gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Waters looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Waters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Protagonist throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Protagonist pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A nice leg kick lands there from Protagonist.
Protagonist has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Waters lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Waters lunges at Protagonist with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Protagonist's hand.
Waters throws a jab when Protagonist was well out of range.

Protagonist tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Protagonist throws a sloppy head kick
and Waters cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee is keeping an eye on Protagonist - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Derek Waters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Waters throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Protagonist sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Protagonist jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Protagonist walks into a jab.
Good leg kick by Protagonist there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Protagonist goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Protagonist takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Protagonist is still on wobbly legs! Can Waters finish him?
Waters connects with a leg kick. Protagonist looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Protagonist seems to have recovered his senses.

Protagonist takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Waters drops Protagonist with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Protagonist looks back up at him and smiles so Waters waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Waters is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Protagonist can do to turn this around?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Waters throws a looping overhand right but Protagonist ducks down to avoid it.
A nice inside leg kick there by Waters. That's going to slow Protagonist down.
Protagonist tries to move into range but Waters moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Waters lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Waters lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Protagonist throws a body kick that misses.
Waters tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Protagonist was well out of range. Poor timing from Waters.

Waters feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Protagonist sprawling to the canvas! Protagonist rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Waters finish him?!

Protagonist gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Waters gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Derek Waters!
A relieved looking Derek Waters thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
