PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Shafer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shafer has chosen Big Shit Poppin as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Joseph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Shafer!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shafer dives in and grabs Joseph's left leg, looking for a takedown. Joseph pushes down on Shafer's head and hops out.
Joseph misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

It looks like Alex Shafer has been cut.
A combination from Shafer does no damage.
Joseph throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Shafer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Joseph to the mat! Joseph manages to get full guard.

Joseph is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Imperium MMA Gym(4 Sprbt 4*+)(15 Coach)$850 that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Joseph feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Joseph.
I think Joseph has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
