Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leon Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Huerta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Huerta has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leon Barnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Huerta! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huerta fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Barnett to the ground. Huerta is now in Barnett's guard. Huerta loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Barnett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Huerta stands up and waves to Barnett to follow him. Barnett takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Barnett tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Huerta swivels and escapes. Barnett doesn't succeed with the takedown and Huerta counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Barnett's guard now. Barnett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Huerta on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Huerta drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Huerta jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barnett has his foot on Huerta's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Huerta works his way back into a safe position though. Huerta is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Barnett is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Huerta thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Huerta stands and steps away. Barnett gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Huerta misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barnett misses with a takedown and Huerta counters with a shoot takedown. Barnett fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Barnett. That's going to take a lot out of him. Huerta thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Huerta trying to control the position from guard on top but Barnett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Barnett not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Huerta drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barnett manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Huerta has Barnett in his guard. Barnett wants to pass the guard but Huerta is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Huerta utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Huerta keeping moving, preventing Barnett from controlling successfully. Barnett postures up in Huerta's guard and throws a big left but Huerta blocks it. Barnett tries to free his leg and advance position but Huerta is retaining full guard. Huerta manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barnett manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Huerta drops back looking for a leg! Barnett is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barnett manages to kick Huerta off! Huerta jumps back into Barnett's guard. Huerta trying to control the position from guard on top but Barnett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Huerta drops back, looking for a kneebar! Barnett looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Barnett looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Barnett! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Huerta is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Huerta dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
No luck for Barnett with that takedown attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Barnett. Barnett misses with a takedown and Huerta counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Barnett. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barnett preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Huerta keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Barnett's head. Huerta throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Huerta with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Huerta looking to sit in guard and control but Barnett gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Huerta manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Huerta moves to the back position. Huerta looking for the choke from the back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Huerta looking for the choke but no joy. Huerta is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Barnett is tapping out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Paul Huerta! During a confident post fight interview, Paul Huerta thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
