Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Yikes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Calgary Alberta! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yikes throws a hook but Alberta avoids it easily. Alberta fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Yikes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Alberta.
It looks like Calgary Alberta has been cut. Horrible takedown by Alberta or perhaps it was just good defense by Yikes which made him look bad. A swing and a miss from Yikes. Yikes punishes Alberta's body with a nice straight punch. Alberta misses with a takedown attempt - Yikes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kyle Yikes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Calgary Alberta. Yikes swings and misses with a shot to the body and Alberta counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alberta. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Alberta postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yikes is in big trouble! Alberta drops down looking for an ankle pick but Yikes pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Alberta is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Yikes can't fight it off and eventually Alberta manages to take the fight to the floor. Yikes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Alberta wants to control from the top but Yikes keeps moving. Yikes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yikes wants to get back to his feet but Alberta is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Yikes trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Yikes keeping moving, preventing Alberta from controlling successfully. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Kyle Yikes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Alberta uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Yikes. Alberta drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Alberta prevents Yikes from escaping the position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Yikes is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alberta shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yikes pinned against the cage. Yikes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Some wild striking there from Yikes.
Yikes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Alberta circles away quickly and effectively. Alberta tries to clinch but Yikes moves out of range. We've been told by Yikes's head coaches at Gold Standard Elite Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Yikes connects with a looping right hand.
Kyle Yikes is winning the standup battle so far. Yikes leaves Alberta with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Alberta tries to close the distance and clinch but Yikes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Alberta looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yikes is fending him off so far but Alberta persists. Nope, Yikes circles away and we're back to standing. Kyle Yikes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Yikes is trying to maintain the position but Alberta is very close to passing his half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Yikes working hard to break the clinch. Alberta goes for a takedown attempt but Yikes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Alberta does a little dance to reset his feet. Yikes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Alberta's hands.
